Ruby the Boxer

Ruby is an adult rescue boxer who came to her new family with little to no training. She was a gentle dog, but a true boxer at heart-which meant there was a little craziness engrained in her personality. On walks, Ruby was easily distracted. Her owners described Ruby as being in her own little world. Squirrels, dogs, people, leaves in the wind all were enough to derail their walks. She also was settling into her new home with some less than desirable habits.

Sit Happens taught Ruby’s new owners how to establish some boundaries in their home. We also showed them how to take control on their walks. Using treats and leash corrections, Sit Happens was able to build focus for Ruby and show her the value in following her owners’ commands. Most importantly, Ruby learned to relax and enjoy her new family inside and outside of the house.
